On the MA State house lawn sits a statue of our distant Quaker ancestor, Mary Dyer. Her final words as she was led to the gallows on Boston Common in June of 1660 were: "My life not availeth me in comparison to the liberty of the truth."

In 1986, Dave Letterman read brother Jim’s letter on Viewer Mail (Jizmo was the crazy name some Dot Rat gave him). Dave did a skit about a guy named “Jizmo” whom he visited in Boston. Fast forward to 12:52 to see the segment. Click Jim's letter to Dave below.
Many thanks to author Mary Fenney for her guidance, encouragement, and feedback throughout the writing of Dyer Straits.
